So lately on Facebook i've been noticing a bunch of people updating their statuses with respect to the new iPad that Apple are planning to  release in the near future.  I was quite interested myself especially as an artist as it would mean complete control using the muli touch screen that has been taken from the iTouch and iPhone.  It's really a magnificent piece of work and with a screen like that?  Wow.  I've seen laptops with touch sensitive screens before, but my hopes were raised since Apple were going to be making it.  I then went onto youtube to check out the video of Steve Jobs unveiling it to the world for the very first time.

After watching it I was just kinda pissed off at Apple.  They were basically releasing a huge ass iPhone...and one that can't even call!!!  So I guess that's just a huge ass iTouch then...apologies.  I just couldn't understand the point of releasing such a dumbass product (in my opinion) unless it was to take advantage of Apple's current status in the market to make consumers think that they're buying something useful when it really isn't.  As I stated before, this is obviously just my opinion, so i'd like to explain why.  Firstly, in the demonstration video all Jobs was doing was going on websites, listening to music, watching videos on this "revolutionary" machine.  It didn't interest me since it was things that most of us already know how to do.  The touch technology wasn't anything new either.  I could at least sympathize with them if you couldn't do all that on the iPhone/iTouch, but guess what!!!  You can!!!  He continued to show off unimpressive features throughout the whole demo, and I think with regards to the hype of this piece of technology, it was generally a huge let down.  It's not small enough to be portable, and not large enough (or functional enough) to be a laptop.  I was pretty sure that the iPhone/iTouch was made to increase the accessibility of phones that basically were like computers.  So what's the point of getting a damn iPad if it's so damn large?  Obviously there are gonna be some kickass apps that people will develop for it.  But in the meantime...just get a laptop instead...
